Maybe Salma? I'd like to see her over Evennia.
Your last two posts are brilliant, ...you do know what happened to Langmar right? And also the next hero is not going to be a ranger or todo with WiK, so that cancels Thackerey.

Anyone guessed Jatoro yet? He jumps from one group of bandits or adventurers to another, so I wouldn't be too surprised if the next one he wants to join is ours.

If the topic of the thread is now the actual next hero as opposed to what you wish, it's Keiran as a Paragon. Between public Dev and Krewe "hints" I'm completely convinced of this.

You mean todo with WoC. This hero sure as hell has to do with WiK, you get them when Hearts of the North is finished (which requires WiK).

He was saying the hero will not be part of the storyline from WiK, but will be only be in the WoC arc, which is his opinion - the point of this thread right?

Personally I'd love a Ghostly Togo, but the TK has been hinting as something completely obvious - why would togo be obvious?
Makes me think it is not him.

While a variable primary would be cool - how would you deal with profession specific runes on him/her?

My money is on Thakery.

I'm guessing this may have been one of the reasons the variable primary hero didn't work out in the first place. It's been a few years, though - they may have figured it out by now. I don't have any ideas, but maybe they do.

This is about impossible since Hearts is not a pre-requisite for WoC, and the hero is awarded at the end of Hearts. Very hard to make something not required for the storyline part of the storyline.

Wait, isn't the new hero suppose to be Miku? I thought that was obvious from where the storyline is going towards. Either her or Thackeray.

Nah, she's instead going to be an important character related to the new Cantha content coming up. There's a number of posts here mentioning Stumme's response stating that both Thackery and Miku will not be the new hero.

I'm honestly at a loss of what the new hero is. Stumme said it will be something very unexpected, yet the TK also say it's someone or something we're very familiar with.

Argh, I'm so eager to see the new content!

What he said was no ranger or assassin. That isn't the same as what you wrote.

Whoops, thanks for the correction. Still glad it's not another assassin hero - I've rarely ever used Anton or Zenmai. And as for a ranger hero, I don't think anyone could really top Pyre.

Where was this said? It's not that I don't believe you. I'm probably wrong, but just haven't seen this.

Exactly. Which is why it will be Gwen's baby. We'll have to protect and train him to be the future leader of Tyria. This is also why they are removing the 3 hero limit. One of our hero spots will be taken up by a baby.

I know we're not familiar with Gwen's baby...at least, not in GW1, but the lore that bridges us between GW1 and GW2 does contain lots of information about Thackeray's descendants, right?

I doubt it will be Logan Thackeray unless he is 250 years old in GW2, but maybe Logan's grandfather?

So here's my theory.

The new hero will be Gwen and Kieran's baby, and it will in fact be Logan Thackeray. How does he live to be 250 years old and survive until GW2?

When Ebonhawke is established in 1080 AE (current day in GW 1), Gwen Thackeray is sent there (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ebonhawke). She is present when the Foefire (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Foefire) comes. The humans become ghosts, but a band of charr survive and become the Fireshadows.

The article states that
Quote:
There's no records of a human who witnessed the event to have survived, and thus humanity was left with only misguided rumors.
I think GW2 will begin by revealing that one did in fact survive, and it was Logan. When he returns, it will be with the Sohothin (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sohothin).

Quote:
The ghosts of the Ascalon army, still consumed by rage and bloodlust, are stuck in time defending the city against anyone who enters the ruins, be them human or charr. It is said that only when the rightful king returns with Magdaer or Sohothin in hand the ghosts will finally be able to rest.
Somehow, Logan will be one of these ghosts and will obtain the sword from unded Rurik, and will return with it 250 years later at the beginning of GW2. All of this is why Logan

is torn by his dark past and the great pain he feels in his heart.

@dts720566:

That seems like a pretty long and winding road to have to travel just so that they can make the GwenChild into a Hero. Especially when your tale involves Logan being a ghost, when he's most certainly flesh and blood, and working as a guardsman in Kryta during "Ghosts of Ascalon".

When you look at the complexity involved in doing that, and compare it with something simple like Hayda meeting you in a field or Khamu meeting you in Gunnar's Hold and saying "o hai, i'm ur new hero nao" -- I don't think that Logan will be the new hero in GW1.

I hope it's a Paragon so everyone will rant and rave.

I hope it's Blimm as a rit.
He ends up buried in a tomb under Divinity's Reach, which I hope means he still has an important role to play before it's all over.

Yeah, he probably didn't become a ghost.
